kitabun [20]

Translation:

And how are they behaving now towards a Book which has come to them from Allah? Inspite of the fact that it confirms the Scriptures which they already possessed. and, inspite of the fact that, before it came, they used to pray for a signal victory over the disbelievers, they rejected it when it came, although they recognized it. May Allahs curse be upon such disbelievers

Translit: Walamma jaahum kitabun min AAindi Allahi musaddiqun lima maAAahum wakanoo min qablu yastaftihoona AAala allatheena kafaroo falamma jaahum ma AAarafoo kafaroo bihi falaAAnatu Allahi AAala alkafireena

O People of the Book, Our Messenger has come to you; he makes manifest to you many things of the Book which you were concealing, and passes over many others.37 Light has come to you from Allah and the Book which guides to the Truth,

Translation:

(Like that Book) this is a Book which We have sent down; it is a blessed Book, it confirms that which was sent down before it, and this has been sent down so that you should warn the people of this central place (Makkah) and those who dwell around it. Those, who believe in the Hereafter, believe in this Book, and observe their prescribed Prayers punctually.

Translit: Wahatha kitabun anzalnahu mubarakun musaddiqu allathee bayna yadayhi walitunthira omma alqura waman hawlaha waallatheena yuminoona bialakhirati yuminoona bihi wahum AAala salatihim yuhafithoona

Translation:

And likewise have We sent down this Book, which is a perfect blessing; so follow this and adopt the God fearing attitude so that mercy may be shown to you.

Translation:

This is a book which has been sent down to you: so, O Muhammad let there be no hesitation in your mind about it; this has been sent down that you may thereby warn (the disbelievers) and that it may be an admonition to the Believer.

Translit: Kitabun onzila ilayka fala yakun fee sadrika harajun minhu litunthira bihi wathikra lilmumineena

Had there not been a decree that had already been given by Allah, you would have incurred a severe chastisement in consequence of what you have taken.

Translation:

Alif Lam Ra. It is an Edict whose contents have been made firm and issued in detail2 by the All-Wise and All-Aware: (it is this):

Translit: Aliflamra kitabun ohkimat ayatuhu thumma fussilat min ladun hakeemin khabeerin

Translation:

Alif Lam Ra. O Muhammad! This is a Book which We have sent down to you so that you may bring mankind by the help of their Lord out of the dark ways (of ignorance) into the Light (of knowledge) to the Way of that God,

Translit: Aliflamra kitabun anzalnahu ilayka litukhrija alnnasa mina alththulumati ila alnnoori biithni rabbihim ila sirati alAAazeezi alhameedi

Translation:

We had prescribed a respite for every habitation that we destroyed before this.

Translit: Wama ahlakna min qaryatin illa walaha kitabun maAAloomun

We do not burden anyone with more than he can bear. And We have a book which tells accurately (about everyone), and the people will in no case be treated unjustly.

Translation:

a Book whose verses are well-expounded, an Arabic Qur'an for those who have knowledge,

Translation:

These are the people who refused to believe in the Admonition when it came to them. But the fact is that this is a mighty Book.

Translit: Inna allatheena kafaroo bialththikri lamma jaahum wainnahu lakitabun AAazeezun

Yet before it there has come the Book of Moses as a guide and a mercy, and this Book has been revealed to confirm it in the Arabic tongue so as to warn the wrongdoers17 and to give good news to those who have adopted the righteous conduct.

Translation:

(Whereas) We know very well whatever the earth consumes of their bodies, and We have a Book which preserves every thing.
